Romagna Peaches and Nectarines are a special category of fruit, and they are renowned and appreciated around the world for their unique quality and taste. In 1998, they were the first in Europe to be awarded the Protected Geographic Indication mark, because they are exclusively grown in the provinces of Bologna, Forlì-Cesena, Ferrara and Ravenna, and Rimini. The Consortium for the Protection of these products, which was officially recognized in 2015, oversees their enhancement and promotion, and safeguards their uniqueness.
